I do believe that if Parish had been willing to back him properly, he wouldn't have left, but difficult to infer anything from what he said last night.

Except that the reason given at the time wasn't the real reason

We attacked in numbers ,got back in numbers , held our lines which was all very effective against a champions league team. I think palace played well and it will come good like it always does.

That’s my belief as well, but like most supporters I felt at the end of last season we would improve our squad. This is what every team must do to move on and stay with others around them. Instead we didn’t replace Cabaye or Loftus-Cheek and relied on Benteke getting out of his bad form. Now we have no forward and a weaker midfield. The squad is poor outside the first 11. But, I do believe we won’t go down, it’s going to be close though :-(

Hamstring. Suffered it late on at Chelsea and Hodgson hopes to have him fit for United game.

We didn't look like scoring.

Teams are turning up against us and getting efficient 1-0/2-0 wins.

If needed I'm sure Spurs could have upped the tempo.

He did take a touch and needed to shot but he blasted it from about 10 yards with no composure. Somebody even mentioned that he tested the keeper !?! I'd hoped he wouldn't from that position and made sure it was also on target with a little more composure. Agree though, he looks the best option as a striker at the moment. May even be able to head the ball clear properly in our box against Man Ure.

If the choice was Ayew or Sorloth to start up front then it should of been Sorloth. Clearly nobody in the Palace camp had seen the Watford game where Troy Deeney bossed the Spurs defence and was rightly MoM. Not saying Sorloth is as good as Deeney in this area but would surely of been more similar than Ayew ? Judging by the iffiness of the back 4 and particularly Lloris we might of been better off. Infact Tekkers would of been the best option in this match. Dann would of caused more problems if he was also around. Maybe both will be available for the return fixture as I'd loved to get something from the Spuds.
