This was introduced some time ago in the hope of making the game more open and producing more goals. My view is that you start the game with a point and then try to win 2 more. It would be interesting to see what league tables looked like if teams were awarded 3 points for a win and 1 point for a score draw - nothing given for a scoreless game. I would hope that this would avoid teams 'parking the bus' in order to 'keep' the point they start the match with. Why be awarded a point if the sole intention is to stop the opposition from scoring. The game should be about goals so you have to go out and win points. Starting with one really negates the point. I'll be interested to see others points of view on this.

Anyone who thinks we deserved nothing for holding Citeh to a draw last season needs psychiatric help.

It might work if the losing manager were also tied to a tree and covered in glue, goose feathers and horse s***e as an extra incentive.

Do like the way you guys steam in without apparently giving much thought to the matter or remembering one specific match. How about 0 points for a lose, 1 for a scoreless draw, 2 for a score draw and 4 points for a win? Would that produce more action or are we concerned that Palace's problem for a number of years has been scoring goals on a regular basis.

Even if that was only 1 point, teams playing against better sides would still go for that point and hope they could snatch a win, rather than attack and risk loosing. Nothing wrong with the system as it is. If teams park the bus, it's up to other teams to break them down.
