One day a quarter of a century later it struck me out of the blue and without even trying that the correct answer was to use an encapsulated phrase along the lines of "seine durch Karies beschädigten Zähne". That this was a schoolboy error is demonstrated by the memory of another prose we were set in the sixth form which contained a footnote to the effect that "the marble-topped table" should be rendered as "the with-a-marble-top-provided table". I got a Third in the paper concerned :-( Sorry, were these supposed to involve girls? There weren't any of those in my day. chateau, what you lack in wit, charisma, entertainment value and charm you more than make up for with sheer boredom

Even yesterday I wasted two hours trying to debug some C++ when all I had done was try to delete a QGraphicsItem pointer to an object that was already assigned a parent whose destructor was deleting it automatically anyway. I'm putting that one down to a senior moment (couldn't remember key points of the Qt API).

When i was younger i had a lovely Mini Rover from 1977 - anyways, got it, showed it off to the missus at the time and whatever, anyways after summer left us i was bored with my current 6th former girlfriend and started having a bit on the side, usually in the car - one time i was with the missus and ofcourse the car got foggy pretty quick as we drove down to purley way (being an old car) for the cinema and what appeared all over the inside of the windshield, my crappy reebok classic prints, some tarts bare feet and a lot of smeers... i tried to make the wipers go faster and spray more water... but condensation doesn't work like that... school boy error.
