Anybody traveling to the Vitality Stadium by car just need to be aware that roadworks on the A338 into and out of Bournmouth are due to commence tomorrow. When the first phase of these roadworks happened about a month ago they had a significant affect on all local roads with people trying to avoid them right up until 7.30 - 8pm in the evening so best to leave plenty of time

Good point. By coincidence I went to Bournemouth on Friday evening and returned on Saturday afternoon (“so near yet so far”!). Both journeys were a feckin’ nightmare...not only the A338 but the M27 too because of major roadworks. Coming home, the eastbound M27 was closed and you simply got pushed off into Southampton gridlock. The closure looked pretty permanent to me. Signs around Bournemouth seemed to be saying that the A338 would be closed from tomorrow...but please check, and don’t take my word for it.

The M27 diversion was only for the weekend and is now fully open.

The M27 diversion was only for the weekend and is now fully open. Yep. I heard that on my (so-called) local BBC news this morning (BBC South - it’s always good to get all the Hampshire, Dorset and Isle of Wight news in Oxford). Was intending to post on arrival at work, so you beat me to it. I hope all travelling fans have a good, safe journey.

A338 in-bound to Bournemouth is talking about an hour to get through the roadworks this morning so expect at least an half hour delay tonight. Later this evening the out-bound A338 will be closed from 11pm so don't hang around after the game, if you don't want a detour through Christchurch or Ferndown. Safe journey everyone - I'll be walking to this one :-)
