The best ref we have seen at Selhurst for some time.

He did well but the guy who had a little nap in the second half should have been booked.
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

Yes, I have to agree that he had a pretty good game. I am normally one of his biggest critics however he let the game flow and let some fouls go in favour of both sides if he thought it wasn't influencing the game. He missed the horrendous dive by one of their players which deserved a yellow but apart from that it was a decent performance.

Thought he did OK. No major talking points for once. The biggest problem yesterday was with the rules of the game. At the end of the first half it was 10 fouls to 2. Clearly Newcastle were committing multiple minor fouls to break up attacks. IMH this clearly contributed to a dull game with a lack of chances. Once again I'm claiming football follows rugby's rules and when a team is repeatedly commiting fouls, the next player caught, then gets a booking, regardless of their individual conduct earlier in the game.

I guess the issue here is, that if said player who cops the yellow card for committing the final foul in a chain of fouls, which is not worthy of a yellow, but already on a yellow, gets sent off for no reason. err did that make sense? Originally posted by jeeagles

first time in ages I've not been complaining about the ref. had a good game unless he slipped something in Sakho's tea at halftime
