I read somewhere we are going to loan fringe players out for free (i.e. cover all their wages) if they're guaranteed football.

With that in mind, Lokilo to Lorient would be excellent business if he's going to get a full season. I'd also be pleasantly astonished if 'boro were prepared to guarantee Punch a starting berth.

Not trying to recoup wages seems a very bold step, mind, given what appears to me to be our precarious FFP position.

I reckon Williams will be loaned...Riedewald too, and then any bright prospects from our youth ranks. Daly perhaps? Sorloth would hugely benefit from 35+ games in the championship. Not that it'll ever happen.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

I think with our thin squad we will find it difficult to loan out in case of injuries. We have 26 senior players so one will go probably Inniss. We have a lot of midfield options so Puncheon could however will we reduce ro 24?

We already have two of our central defenders out injured and we do have history with injury crises in the middle of defence and it wasn't that long ago that Schlupp was drafted in as a centre half.

Puncheon, Williams or Kaikai are the obvious ones to leave out as midfield is where we have the most cover

Reason I say Inniss is I don't think he will have been named in 25 which has already gone in

I think Puncheon and Kaikai will but I think Williams has done enough to impress and hold on to incase of injuries.

The article I read hinted it would be a season loan move with a permanent signing if it works out.

I read it as there would be no fee, not that we'd be paying all their wages.

Optimistic as ever

I read in the Times that this was for U23 players, and we had written to every League 1, League 2 and National League side with the offer. Excellent move if true as we'd be able to gauge the youngsters at first team level, much more physical than U23 league. Not sure how many will bite at the requirement for regular first team football though, and wonder what the penalty is if they're not played regularly enough.

Williams is not good enough. Not being picked by any of our recent managers tells you that. Time for him to move on.
