To be fair to mourinho, they gave him a new contract and didn’t sign any defenders. Their defense was atrocious today and alderweireld showed them what they missed out on. But the fresh, clever Mourinho from fifteen years ago has turned into a boring, miserable, whiny turd

Why should they give him more money when he should be able to organize a competent defence with any combination of those 4 centre backs.

If my recollection is correct, Bailly and Lindelof cost a total of around £60 Mill.Lindelof has looked particularly vulnerable - I understand Mourinho saw similarities with Varane, in fact at Benfica Lindelof was known as "The Iceman" due to his composure.Not worked out for him at Man Utd and Carragher has said he shouldn't be playing at this level. Why would anyone want to be fair to Man United? Feck 'em. Laugh at their misery whilst it lasts as unfortunately it never does last that long.

Borinhio is finished, his tactics are outdated now, football has moved on, he likes to litter his teams with dour defence minded players and bomb out anyone with attacking talent. The fact he bombed out Salah an de bruyne and breaks the bank for matic and Lukaku shows he's lost his edge. He's become so miserable and up his own arse because he's not the special one anymore, his magic doesn't work and players don't respond to his tactics and it frustrates him. That's what happens with one dimensional tactics, its great for a while but eventually you get found out and there's no plan B
