Five of us went to Cork over the weekend (2 Scouse, 1 Spud myself and a non footie fan) just to visit but as there was a game on we went (well I dragged them) along. At no 17 for them was centre back local to the city and just back from a spell over here and a few years at SE25.
They had just played a tough away match at Rosenborg (0-3 and 0-5 on aggregate) on Thursday so the excessive 15 minute training before the game was probably uncalled for. St Pats looked the better (and more cynical) side for most of the first half and could have taken the lead. The second half went the same way until St Pats took the lead and at this point the manager brought on some fresh legs which made a difference with City equalising with a very good cross and equally powerful header. The two sides then played out the remainder of the game. Damo played right side of defence and only crossed the half way line for corners he also hit a few of his trademark clearance/attacking passes but mostly played out of defence along the ground. A small ground with potentially 7,500 supporters but only 3,500 on the night. The non footie fan enjoyed himself and I recommended AFC Wimbledon as a team to follow (he lives in Raynes Park. But we all enjoyed the night which was very pleasant and friendly except for a very angry guy in front of us who took on the ref, linesman and his own teams manager.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

Yes, watched the highlights. Thought Delaney looked very tired, but then he had played a Europa League match in Norway 72 hours earlier.
