VAR as shown in the World Cup would stop refs going with Big teams on decisions, bring in VAR as soon as.

The cricket system of DRS is flawless because it has developed over the last few years. There is very little interruption and it adds to the excitement, and you know the technology will get the decision right. The sooner VAR is onboard the better. Refs are subject to pressure it seems particularly with big teams, they also do daft things and guess as I think Allardyce said happened here. There is no reflection on the umpire with DRS and decisions are overturned on review. Get it on even if it takes a season or two to get it right.

Giving a wing back as much space/time as Alexander Arnold had but with a better cross will cost us x 5

If it had been that important to suffocate Alexander-Arnold we would have done it. His final ball isn't that good, as we saw. It was a higher priority to keep Salah quiet, which we did to the point where he was reduced to having to cheat. Edited by chateauferret (22 Aug 2018 11.52pm)

I’m not angry anymore so I can be sensible. 1. There is no point in playing benteke if we aren’t going to play to his strengths. We don’t put enough balls in the box, drop so let’s try someone else. I still like him even though others don’t but it isn’t working. Criticise his holding the ball up etc but that isn’t his game. 2. Refs will 100% favour big teams. We’d have wanted a pen for that challenge but we wouldn’t have got it. Same for a few other decisions. 3. We have a really good squad this year with cover on the bench and proper quality, 4. Oliver is a closet scouser. Even the red card wasn’t cut and dry, double jeopardy doesn’t apply anymore, Salah lost control and it was wb’s Trailing knee that caught him but Oliver didn’t give a s***. 5. I’m still a lot angrier than I thought

With Tomkins and Sakho vs their forward line we'd back ourselves to defend crosses like that. You can't stop everything, and I thought it was a good tactical move to defend deep and narrow.
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |
