Ummm Nope. No justification Never said it was justified. Because obviously it’s not. Again, a common mistake made on here. Nothing is being ‘rolled out as justification’. Searching for a cause (in this case many causes, it’s a complex issue) does not mean searching for justification. The two are not intrinsically linked. What that kind of attitude is good for is turning a blind eye to anything other than introspection I.e ‘it’s all his fault miss. I didn’t do nuffink’ People like that usually don’t get very far in life.

You said and I quote: "I think this has distracted enough from the real interesting stuff in this thread. Try to reply to my points without attempting at point scoring or deflection, and I'll engage. Cheers" A defeatist statement if I ever saw one. In reality, wasn't hard to draw you back, was it? Point scoring you daft plum,is part and parcel of debating especially when there's an audience.
To paraphrase you: Err Try again chappie Cheers PS don't forget- try reading the dictionary. Also, maybe an article on debating, how common sense is used in debates, and conviction, how to stick to your guns, but dictionary first. Now watch - how easy it is - to ignore someone - I.e you. On this thread anyways..

Edited by Park Road (18 Aug 2018 4.40am) Nah, it’s not hard to close down debate all the time. You’re pretty good at it. And you’re also good at misrepresenting others comments. Although I’d wager that’s about all you’re good at. Unfortunately I’ve had to come down to your level to actually be able to talk about the same thing. Thankfully as you’ve already indicated, this will be for the last time! Oh the joy! The gratitude I must have to feel for being ignored, so I don’t need to waste my time filling these boards with boring (but important) corrective dross. To help you out. You know. You must know, surely, what I’d written and it what context. I hope so, and that this is a tactical wind up. Alas, as I’m pretty sure you’re not - I may as well bore myself and everyone else again. I said the following... ‘So, facts are great. Especially when used to make or support a point. They are however a little like statistics, with regards to how they're framed, selectively used and or just plain ignored.’ Check the second sentence. This is where the magic really happens. If you read the first part, if you simplify it, it kind of seems like I’m saying facts and statistics are the same. Not quite, but hold that rage. Let’s read the rest of the sentence. The second part makes the point that stated facts are only ever as good as their references. Also, not everyone checks things confidently presented as fact. And this is the rub. This is where statistics and facts can indeed be a little similar if facts are presented incorrectly, warped, mis-referenced, presented out of context or in Spider-Man’s case just plain ole made up to further an apparent anti-Muslim narrative. This is where facts can indeed become just like ‘Lies, damn lies, and statistics’. And if you’re going to try to argue that because it wasn’t a fact this logic doesn’t apply, then you’re wrong, simply because it was presented as a fact. Pesky context again, what a b******. It then remains perceived as fact until someone checks it. Like me. That’s why is good to include references when making contentious points. Or just, y’know what you’re talking about when stating things as fact in a sensitive and complex debate. I also then said this ‘Facts are great. I wasn't being sarcastic. Facts are like statistics, they can also be made up, and presented as fact (see Spiderman earlier) Which it's why it's always important to cross reference.’ Now this is also making a similar point, this time with a bit more force. Isn’t it great constantly having to repeat yourself when all you really want to do is to debate the topic? Ah look. Hold on. Still Confused? If you want to see a thrilling, real life example of this, it’s in this thread. Somewhere. Not going to tell you where, that can be your homework. What a treat! Wow that was mind bendingly boring. I’ve literally just wasted 10 minutes of my life for your benefit. And I’m not even confident that it was worth it. Managed it without editing multiple times though. Now if you excuse me I’m off to drain my throbbing member of reason into the nearest available parentheses and attempt to forget about this whole sordid episode.

Now where have I heard that before? Oh yeah practically every other time we have an incident. That and they are usually taxi drivers or work in takeaways.
