The goal Schlupp scored against Fulham was a carbon copy of the one he scored against Toulouse ball slipped in from Van A, then turn and hit. It must be a training ground move. Long may it last and they have many more.

Spoke to a Fulham fan today who felt there keeper was at fault for allowing to be beaten at the near post and quite a tight angle.

The Commentator on my stream was bleating on about the Keeper being beaten at his near post. I can't fathom how it can be that cut and dry for these people. Yes Keepers should get to 9 out of 10 shots at their near side but this was top corner at speed. How does anyone get there? I think Commentators sometimes have their little cliche's such as Keepers not being beaten at a nearside and then never allow for any exceptions. A similar one was the Pickford free-kick against Wolves. Yes it was the side he had covered but again top corner, bend and pace. These people think Keeper's are giant cats I think.

I understand about goalkeepers and their near post. All I was saying was the move leading up to the shot was the same as his Toulouse goal. Anyway it was hit so hard the keeper only felt the draft of it.

Pat Nevin on five live said though it was a near post shot he didn't give any blame to the keeper because of the power, distance and mostly that Schlupp 'roofed' it - sometimes you just have to give credit to the quality of the strike

If you hit the ball bloody hard and on target from close range the Goalie will struggle and in this case it was just perfect!

I was thinking that same thing it’s a carbon copy of the goal. I really like Schlupp in that position, the three of them link up well and can all slip out wide. PVA can also drift over to the other side by running in as Scluppy is more than capable at filling in at left back. It’s a very fluid way of playing that is very difficult to mark, especially with Fulham having so many new faces.
