Just a suggestion but with Kelly being our only CB backup with Dann injured, any thoughts on moving Ward to CB especially when it looks like he’ll be playing second fiddle to AWB, any thoughts?

He'd be back up as a CB also. I don't think Ward will miss that many games at RB. Edited by DeanMiles (29 Jul 2018 6.44pm)

I think that jairo, and luka would be thrown into cb before ward. Big Sam even popped schluppy in for a game as part of a back 3

He has played at Centre Back and defensive Midfield when he played for portsmouth. However he is by trade a RB and that is his best position

Tbf I think Kelly has done better than Dann at times at CB. He is perfectly ok to slot in should we need him. Ppl talk about sakho’s last 6 months, but I think when Kelly has been called upon in the last 18 months, he has stepped up. Southampton away and Burnley at home, he would feel himself unlucky to be dropped imo

Its good to have players in the squad who can fill in at various positions and Ward is one that can play across the back with varying success and as we have seen in the past quite well in midfield .
