I read this morning that Spurs are considering letting him go and to my mind I think he would a great signing for a club of our level. Last summer Chelsea and Spurs were fighting over him, but he has perhaps lost a bit of stock since. Being a London club would probably work in our favour too. A signing like this would perhaps then allow us to let Sorloth go out on loan to help him adapt to the English game.

He'd be good for this season.

Reportedly unhappy at Spurs and not getting a look in.
Worth a punt on loan in January IMO.

The sort of player you should be taking a loan punt on. Ayew from Championship Swansea is still such a head-scratcher. If you think he's going to be good just buy him, otherwise what a waste of a loan space.

50% of the goals he scored in La Liga were with his head.
Certainly not a workhorse - not known for his workrate and not the quickest.
He and Ayew were at Swansea at the same time.

Yes if he is available definitely worth a loan deal, send Ayew back, Benteke is not only unreliable but is subject to injury so give him a go cannot do any worst facts show.

He has a 1 in 3 record for goals for his career and almost 1 in 2 when he was at Swansea in the PL. We basically need a target man who can score and he seems a likely candidate if he was interested in a loan, or even a short deal of say two years. A lot may depend on whether he wants to end his career playing in one of the top leagues, or whether he wants a final pay day in Dubai or something.

Tottenham might not be interested in a Loan deal.

I recognise Llorente's goalscoring record and his prowess but he will be 34 in a few months so he is in the twilight of his career.

It is a risk with an older player, but Murray and Defoe have shown that it doesn't have to be a barrier. Furthermore, perhaps he might help Sorloth's development, especially with regard to how to head a ball.

This is all a pipe dream anyway, as it looks like he has his heart set on a return to La Liga [Link]

Surely Defoe is the perfect example that one has to be very careful signing older players, or you end up with another 100,000 pound a week non playing player on your books

When Defoe was Llorente's age he scored 15 goals in the PL for Sunderland. The previous year he also scored 15 goals. Defoe even scored for England only last year. I was surprised on checking that he's not been so great for Bournemouth, but then they weren't that great as a team last season. I actually still think a fit Defoe could get goals for us, but on the other hand I also think someone like Llorente would be a better fit.

Rumours are now circulating that Leeds are after him for a 'cut-price' £4 million. I would say at that price it's worth the gamble and we could loan Sorloth to Leeds
