Having said that, he seems more like a West Ham pick up and the previous time he had a chance to join he chose Bournemouth (admittedly Pardew was manager then)

Think with Cabaye going he is a more attractive proposition for the club. Maybe they are still harbouring hopes for RLC who didn't boost his standing with Belgium display and had Dier picked ahead of him as sub v Colombia

RLC is a different type of player to Dier. It was purely tactical, as opposed to being picked ahead of

Cabaye not re-signing was always on the cards and therefore no surprise. He did a great job for us and will always have the fans admiration.
Whoever buys Wilshere will surely want reassurance of his fitness and only take him on with injury recurrence clauses. Wilshere in turn will want a big signing on fee and wages to reflect the money saved by no transfer fee being paid - it’s just a calculation by which the buying club gets a cheaper deal but the player gets the money instead of his previous club.
With that in mind I can’t see why we can’t go for him - he would be a great buy. It’s a fact that he gets on with Roy and with Wet Spams recent turmoil we are a more stable club. Let’s go for it if we can afford it !

It shouldn't be a case of if we can afford it as we need to afford some class in midfield whether it's Wilshere or someone else.

I do hope that we're not pinning our hopes for the season on this cheap Turkish lad as that could either be a brilliant move or suicide and isn't worth the risk

I think wilshire would be a good addition. He has the experience and think he's injury troubles could be behind him

By “afford it” I was referring to how much Wilshere would want but we also have to work to a budget no matter how good the player.

Yes we need to cover Cabaye and maybe Loftus-Cheek if he’s not coming back but not at any price !

The big question mark over Wilshire is his physical condition. Can he play PL football weekly and stay fit?

I'm not sure his history suggests that this is likely. It is always tempting to sign a player from a big club but perhaps we could get much better value for money elsewhere as we did with Milivojevic.

Although certainly more in keeping with the transfer policies of Crystal Palace FC.
