Watched an episode of Bagpuss two weeks ago with my 5 year old on fathers day. The mousemill, obviously. Firm in and Postgate were geniuses. Created beautiful, uplifting children's programmes on a shoestring. Brian Cant not long gone either. A sad loss.

A sad loss. really sad - wonderful man, there was a desert island discs with him about ten years ago, absolutely enchanting, hopefully they'll drag it out of the archive so we can listen again. Bagpuss was sublime, but so were the clangers and noggin the nog.

Noggin The Nog was a childhood favourite such atmospheric music. I always liked their work and Oliver Postgate's voice overs. Their stories were always gentle which made a change from the crash bang wallop of American TV cartoons. Would you believe it they made most of their programs in the garden shed. RIP Peter I believe Emily did love you*. Bagpuss* Been thinking about this all evening makes me feel sad, another piece of my childhood gone. Edited by Badger11 (01 Jul 2018 9.41pm)
