All the other top class leagues have their winter break in December/January. It appears we have opted for February due to the heavy festive season fixtures which prove popular for supporters.I thought that clubs really wanted a break over this period to prevent the succession of matches in a short timescale.Guardiola was critcal of this congestion due the effect it had on his players.Indeed the FA Cup will be moved to midweek but what will the February break do for the pile-up at Christmas and New Year ?

As long as they confirm which week we have off at the start of the season I'm all for it. I like getting away in winter to get a bit of sun but always end up missing a home game or two so this will hopefully mean I don't have to.

Th big clubs will probably just go off and play exhibition matches in some warm climate so it won't be a break as such - at least not from football.
