Don't know about the beer that's sold at football grounds but the Lager is in most cases (Carlsberg ) weak pisswater .Often warm and served in either the plastic bottle or a throw away cup.
Likewise the food , poor quality or not ?

I thought this topic was going to be about the ideal Saturday night. Or any night for that matter. I never buy beer at sports grounds. Rip-off, poorly kept and served, queues, plastic skiffs, I’m there to watch a sporting event and not to get langered or pay multiple visits to the bog. Each to their own, obviously, but I prefer a decent pint that’s been properly looked after.

I heard yesterday that Beavertown will be opening a brewery in the new Spurs ground. That’s top quality and expensive stuff. We don’t do too badly at Selhurst Park with the Palace Ale. Would be great to sell more Cronx beers in the ground over the warm, flat piss you describe. You’re right though, most grounds have really crap beer. Perhaps try some local pop up food stands in there from time to time, box park kind of set up.

Spurs are going to have a cheese room, a bakery, USB ports in premium seats and a micro brewery that can serve 10'000 pints a minute (much better than the ability of the guys at Selhurst to screw a lid off a bottle of Carlsberg/piss!) - the bar alone is nearly 90 metres!

I can drink s***ty beer if that's all that's available. I won't necessarily enjoy it.

I can only speak for the beers on offer in the Holmesdale but think if you like beer (over lager) we are very well off. I go to the Players lounge sometimes after a match and they also seem to have a good stock of beers and lagers. I went to see Fulham v Derby and the beer there was awful, tasted like John Smiths (but wasn't), wish I'd had the lager instead.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |
