well well well, you genuinely think he was hard done by by the club then? The ludicrous vanity project was destined to fail and we got lucky with attracting a gentleman who suited the squad and the club perfectly.

Dutch ignorance and arrogance and I think I am qualified to say that

The majority of HOL people who voted here were against FdB being sacked so quickly.

A distinguished football career as a player and managerial success with Ajax.

Every success to him but really management is so short-term it is just hit or miss, you may get lucky or just get a footing on the manager-go-round.

You certainly are.

The post did not say that FdB was hard done by, try reading it.

IF I were one of the alleged many who voted against FDB's sacking, I might feel he was hard done by. Ergo Johan was just voicing something that was implied and responding accordingly.

I was hoping he would be in the Premier League - guaranteed to be worse than us. He was genuinely awful and clueless: however, I guess you learn best from your mistakes (unless you are destined to repeat them which is the opposite philosophy).

Frank de Boer had an excellent playing career and had considerable managerial success with Ajax.

It is quite out of order to trash him on the basis of a few weeks at Palace.

The HOL vote reflected that.

It is not every day you get lucky enough to have the ex-national team manager rescue you so just be grateful for that.

Trashing past managers and players too is quite unnecessary, unsporting and not a credit to so-called supporters.

Time would be better spent on addressing the reasons for the annual PL survival battle, turn-over of managers and the worst injury list of any in the PL, they all seem ok by the last few games of the season.

I totally understand your sentiments.

The appointment of FDB was as a result of "Muddled thinking" by Steve Parish, it just wasn't a good fit.But under FDB's watch we did sign Sakho and Loftus-Cheek.

At the end of the day he was only manager for 4 games and never got us relegated. He could well be a success elsewhere and I suspect his experience at our club will not deter others from casting eyes in his direction.

I have no inside information but this is what I surmise from what people on here and on the BBS have said.

It was Allardyce who recruited Sakho and Parish signed him permanently despite de Boer rather than because of him. De Boer, being a complete and utter pr&t, was the only person anywhere near Palace who actually didn't rate Sakho. The problem presumably was not his assessment of the player but the fact that it wasn't de Boer's idea to get him in.

By the time Loftus-Cheek was recruited de Boer had basically boycotted the recruitment process and gone AWOL for the latter part of the window.

The only player who was recruited with the active involvement of de Boer was Riedewald, who was brought in to suit his bollocks system and in which he looked as much like a lost sheep as the others.

De Boer did enough damage in the time he was here to require an excellent performance from his successor to avoid relegation. I'm amazed anyone else would touch him with a bargepole. He lost the dressing room on day one, a rare achievement indeed (although I am reminded by last night's airing of the film "The Damned United" that Brian Clough managed the same feat at Leeds United in 1974).

He has been trashed based on what happened pre-season, alienating of players and also performance.

I thought we were a little hasty at the time but the reality is SP got it right and corrected what would have been a monumental mistake

I'd be eager to see this happen...at least he'll be given the chance to mould a side...I agree though that the Championship would be a difficult place to do so, but then perhaps he's learned his lesson and won't try and make wholesale changes so quickly....could turn out to be a very shrewd appointment.

If Swansea are stupid enough to hire FdB then I predict that he will be sacked before Christmas!
How could anyone be impressed by him after his time with us ?
I wanted him sacked after the Huddersfield debacle where he showed just how clueless he is - one game was enough !!
