Seen this article and can’t help but agree. Spurs don’t pay huge wages, and if they wanted rid he could be bought very cheaply. At 33 he isn’t a long term prospect, but he has never relied on pace so his game hasn’t changed. A 2 year contract or a season long loan would be perfect to have a player that can put the ball in the net with service.

I'd prefer Fernando Torres if we're on the subject of old, accomplished strikers who have to change teams this summer. I don't have anything against Fernando Llorente, he has been great last season for Swansea, very good at headers. But Fernando Torres is just as fit, still very fast (I mean VERY fast, you wouldn't believe his age, he's like ageless) and, in my opinikn, a better assister and goalscorer than Llorente. Rafa Benitez is really keen on getting him to Newcastle to fight it off with Gayle next season. I'd have Torres any day, though there is basically no resale value, which a younger striker would bring. It's debatable. But he is really hard working and offers just as many assists as goals. Probably the striker with the most assists in the world in his career. He wasn't for nothing ahead of Llorente all those years for Spain (World Cup, Euro+ Champions League and Europa League winner at club level)
