At least you can watch it in English. Since Fox has it here, I'll to watch it in Spanish. I can't stand either Warren Barton or Alexi Lalas, especially since neither one knows the offside law. Hint: the ball comes first, then the second last defender. Besides, my bilingual daughter can translate for me. However, she's rooting for Germany. Where did I go wrong?

We have to endure Mark Lawrenson's thick Irish accent for certain games on the BBC you know

Whoever the prat was that commentated on Dallas v LA and kept screaming "Zlatan" in the most stupid f***ing accent I've ever heard, needs shooting. No idea if it was on Fox or someone else but that bloke is a grade A dickhead.

Another pet peeve about American commentators. Invariably they will say a player is in an offside position on a goal kick or throw in. That's when I go looking for a brick.

It's the Spanish and South American ones I can't stand.

"Ah yabba bababbabble babble babble yada ya. ¡Babble babble babbababble Ronaldo babble babble y G000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000L gol gol gol gol gol goooooooool!"

I mean FFS.

OTOH I was in France during Euro 96 and one night the ball was pinging about in the penalty area bouncing off the post, rolling along the goal line, hitting the keeper and all the rest of it and the commentator was mumbling something along the lines of "Euh, je suppose qu'il a choisi les bottes noires parce que, euh, il les prefère, lui, mais la saison prochaine peut-être on lui fournira des nouvelles, n'est-ce pas, et peut-être ce seront de belles bottes jaunes, ouais, enfin des plus jolies" and so on until he finally bored himself to sleep.
