Here's my take

1 Klopp (if they win CL) Salah van Dijk in/ Coutinho out better team and a profir for team expected to fight for 4th spot

2 Guardiola - 2 trophies scintillating football but $$$ and Liverpool

3 Dyche - Not quite Leicester but great management in many tight games

4 Benitez Top half finish (maybe) with poor squad. Made some good January loans

5 Hodgson - 'Worst PL team ever' after 7 games. Remaining 31(hopefully) better than average

Here's my take

1 Darren Moore - we all know what a heap AP would have left in his wake and DM has picked up the team and delivered a faint whisper of hope within such a short amount of time it’s nothing short of amazing. It’s a huge ‘if’ should WBA scrape to safety, yet the possibility of others failures combined with their current consistency would be the Lazarus tale that conquered my recent disregard.

If any of these other managers had traded places with Roy, I doubt they would have done as well. Considering the extraordinary explosion of injuries, the potential club meltdown when Benteke botched the late PK, and the truly heartbreaking late-game losses and draws, most younger managers lack the patience, experience, and long-run faith (that things will balance out) that Roy possesses in abundance.

Conversely, I wouldn't be surprised if Roy would have done as well as those other managers if he had been in charge of their clubs.

Remember that ours was the worst start in the ENTIRE HISTORY OF ENGLISH PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL.

The way i see it:

Pep spent a lot of money and built a team out of an already good team - it's no real wonder they are doing well - but, he has done a great job.

Dyche - it's fair to say he has pulled off some nice scalps. But, he built his team and it was simmering nicely - had teams like West Ham, Leicester, Everton and to a degree us, performed as expected, their position may have been lower.

Darren Moore (if they stay up) would be in for a huge shout, but is it that new manager bounce?

Hodgson, ok i am biased but he comes in after a terrible pre season where we lose matches, lose moral, lose players to injuries - it's not even his squad - he has to do make do, his bedding in period was 3 losses so after 7 games it looks bleak.
He held his nerve over last minute losses, no recognized strikers - a fan melt down on more than one occasion (due to said striker). He requests up to 7 replacements in jan, gets one decent player with potential, losses him to injury...
Not only did we pick up points, we look to be playing our best football, with players enjoying themselves and the DNA wasn't altered, we didn't try to be flash, we just got on with it.

Klopp i truly don't think he deserves it.

Wagner? For opting to be the new stoke and disrupt the flow and injure players - no thanks.

I know they spent a lot of money to get there, but Man City have operated on another level this year so I think Pep deserves it. I would put Benitez in second as he has had to operate with no money and a very average squad, even compared to Brighton and Thuggersfield. Roy has done a remarkable job at galvanising and organising the team and working through our injury crisis and from a Palace perspective he has been awesome, so I would put him in at third with the caveat that next season I have a feeling if he stays we may see something special.
