Garth Crooks' Team of the Week

Was pleasantly surprised to see him name Hennessey. Deserves recognition for his recent performances.

But then read on and saw that he'd only mentioned a Palace player at all so that he could jump on the f***ing media bandwagon.

His patronising "did you know" stats annoy me so I'm sending him one. Did you know? Wilfried Zaha has been awarded five penalties this season and each gets reviewed by the diving panel. Total number of times he was found diving: 0.

Arsehole.

I read it and thought the same as you. I then read it again and I can't work out if he's being positive about him or not?

I don't think he picked Wayne just to have a go either, as I could probably predict his entire team most weeks.

Are you a GK in the bottom half who kept a clean sheet? You're in.
Do you play for a big team and you scored a goal? You're in.
Are you a defender who scored a goal? Nailed on.
Did you score twice in a game? Nailed on.

The quote in question so you can all decide:
As for the antics of Wilfried Zaha? Really good players don't have to go looking for penalties - they will happen naturally as a consequence of your brilliance.

Optimistic as ever

He picks on results not performances. It may aswell be called winning team of the week, plus the odd goalie or defender from a team that got a clean sheet but maybe didn’t win.

Wayne looks to be signing a new contract imminently! Ay carumba.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

Correct, that is his first criteria.

I think that is Garth calling Wilf really good. Which is an understatement if anything.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

He's picked Wilf a number of times this season, even when he has not played well (but has been on the winning team). He clearly only watches brief highlights, as some of his picks are clearly based on reputation over performance. A couple of weeks ago he picked Mane (for his performance against us I think?) and the sole purpose of that seemed to be so he could criticise him. It was really odd.

His comment on Zaha could be read positively or negatively, but I just have a feeling he was being critical and jumping on the BBC bandwagon.

He seems quite keen to pick the Brighton central defenders a lot!

Quite agree he tends to pick he big name players who have won a game and then uses that as a basis to waffle on about something else.

Hennessey was also in the Sunday Times' 'Team of the Week' and not for the first time this season.

He is a better keeper than many on here give him credit for and I hope he does sign a new contract.
