Really hope this doesn’t happen from a personal point of view. Was hoping he’d come to us, but he’s snubbed them once so hopefully he will again.

The article says he is a winger, the op says he is a forward. I don’t know anything about him, but could he be a replacement for Andros?

Eridivisie is a poor league. Very little quality coming from there now, look at the national side and some of the players that have moved recently.

The Dutch national team is really good in my opinion, top 8 in Europe, a bit unlucky though. Really not much difference between the England national team quality and the Dutch one. Not much difference between loosing to Iceland and finishing tied with Sweden, but missing the second place in the group, which led to the World Cup.

Still, they have a lot of talent in players like Robben, Quincy Promes, Depay, Wijnaldum, Strootman, Virgil van Dijk. They raise talents. Yes, not all make it and their clubs score lots of goals and don't defend well, which costs them in European competitions. They're inconsistent. One season Ajax makes it to the final of the Europa League and makes the most wonderful matches against Lyon in the semi-finals, the next year they are taken out early by Rosenborg!

But they grow players who really know football! I could have told you from the start Klaasen didn't have the speed to make it in English football. About Vincent Janssen, he's a really good forward, but he didn't get gametime becase Harry Kane has been scoring game in game out for Tottenham.

My guess is that Jahanbakhsh IS good enough for English football, but not as a replacement for Townsend as some suugest. He's right footed, not left footed like Townsend.

Been saying for a couple of seasons we should look at him. Iranian forward who plays for AZ Alkmaar and only 24. 18 goals and 12 assists and is both footed. As someone who is half Iranian, I’d love to see an Iranian play for Palace. Could also give us routes into the Iranian market commercially where they love football. Also, I’m sick of my family only hearing about Palace through me.

What do we think?

His surname is one helluva score on the triple letter/ word count in Scrabble....

Not sure if I heard right but thought he had a very good game, was it him that set the goal up?

*could have been someone else as I was struggling to hear the names

Not in any dictionary, unfortunately, so wouldn’t be allowed in an official Scrabble tourney.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

No, he didnlt set up the goal. The team isn't helping him at all. It's just him and Azmoun, the young forward from Rubin Kazan Arsenal was seriously scouting a few years ago. They have a really poor team, despite the win. Morrocco had a lot of possession and they were really lucky.

But Jahanbakhsh had a good game with some good dribbles, he punished the young side defender from Real Madrid a lot, Achrah Hakimi.

He went out injured in the 87th minute thugh, didn't set up the goal, but looked the best out of the Iranians.

Just use his initials and he could wear a magic hat.

Or maybe he'll say - in the words of Paul Simon - You Can Call Me 'Al'
