I do. I don't enjoy the ball ache of spending 3 hours or so at the airport before taking off. And after landing too when going to America. That engine blade failure is the same thing that happened to the British Midland plane that crashed in the UK in 1989 killing 47 people. Even the same side engine. It didn't help that the flight crew shut down the good engine by mistake. That was the Kegworth Air Disaster. I remember driving past that spot probably a month later on a coach on our way to Nottingham for the Simod Cup semi-final against Nottm Forest. It was a midweek game. Well done that lady. Flew back from Egypt last night. Flying is easily the worst part of any holiday.

Commercial pilots are well trained in dealing with an aray of emergency situations. I know that BA pilots have to undergo assessments every 6 months on simulators at Heathrow and probably other UK airlines have similar assessment schedules. But of course it is very different dealing with emergency situations in a simulator than dealing with a real situation in the air. Well done to the pilots of the 'Southwest Airlines' aircraft and thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of that poor lady who lost her life. RIP.

I was caught up in the delta flight this week that had to turn back after the engine went up in flames. We were none the wiser until the plane was back at Atlanta and we were allowed to open the windows and see the flames being put out. Better still, Delta have offered me a whole $100 in flight vouchers with them, to apologise for the flight being delayed...

So glad everyone was safe I would have asked for M&S underwear vouchers as I would have had to change mine.
