Brighton have had Coppell, Hinshelwood and Taylor. Maybe managers who are not popular with supporters because of connections with their fierce rivals don't get much of a 'Honeymoon period'. When Bruce was appointed at A.Villa they were 20th in the Championship but under him they won 7 of their first 12 games,only losing 2 so he got the fans on his side whereas he would have faced fierce criticism if things had gone wrong in the early days. That's the problem with management these days you always have to improve season on season, irrespective of budget. Will fans accept mediocrity every year on the basis the manager doesn't have a budget to get promoted? Since 2012 Ipswich have only spent £5.5 Mill on transfers whilst bringing in £18.5 Mill. Supporters wanted McCarthy out and they got granted their wishes.
