Good morning HOL…

Just want to make you all aware of a very special mascot at the Palace vs Brighton game in April. Lilac, a 3 year old from Cheltenham, has Cerebral Palsy and her folks are raising the necessary funds which will allow her to have an operation called SDR. This surgery will give Lilac the chance to walk independently which would be a massively positive life changing event for her and the family.

Unfortunately, such a procedure isn’t available on the NHS so her family are working tirelessly to raise the funds which will give their daughter the chance to walk…something the vast majority of us take for granted every single day.

I can confirm two things: Number 1 is that Lilac and her family are absolutely wonderful people. Their strength through a difficult period has been inspirational to all those close to them. Number 2 is that Lilac’s Dad is a huge Palace fan. I’ll never forget the bear hug he gave me at full time in the play-off final back in 2013…I’m pretty sure he’s triggered some sort of ligament damage in my shoulder! Like all passionate Palace fans, his kids don’t have a choice but to support Palace too, something we should all applaud.

Below is Little Lilac’s Legs Just Giving Page. If you can spare a few quid I know the family would much appreciate it. Also, please share her story on social media as much as you can. The club have been fantastic so far with regards to this but the more awareness we can raise the better.

Finally, against Brighton give Lilac a huge ovation. She is a beautiful little girl with a tremendous spirit and deserves to feel on cloud nine on April 14th. She’s already extremely excited, as are the family.

Cheers,
Laddo

Donated my thoughts are with Lilac for a complete success.

This is not the first time I have heard of this operation not being available on the NHS. The NHS seems to find money for all sorts of things that some of us might question. How on earth can they not find money for this.

There are a lot of operations available on the NHS that are done for much less justification. This is a very deserving cause and I will donate.

Best of luck Lilac.

Donated - looks like the fundraising is going really well.

I hope she has a brilliant time as a mascot.

Would love to be a mascot myself but i suspect my time for that has passed!!

Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.

Posting again to shamelessly put this subject at the top of the palace forum. I care not, as it is for a great cause.

Please make Lilac feel like the queen of selhurst on Saturday. She massively deserves it!

Eagles!

I don't want to derail the thread, but if it comes to giving some fat fecker a gastric band, a vain woman breast enlargements or a little girl the possibility of walking, which one do you think should be prioritised?
