defensively we were enormous, Tomkins starting to look like international material. But I felt Wilf for the most part was off the pace, slow to react and thought he had more time than he had. Milo and Cabaye looked good in the middle, but we lost way too many balls to tackles due to waiting on the ball. This is what happens when teams pressure us all over the field.

But even so he got the corner for the first goal, despite having three men on him, and made a great pass to set Townsend on his way for the penalty. We can't seem to win ( or even draw, on past history) without him

I only saw the highlights on MOTD but how was Sakho. They showed one mislaid defensive pass where he then made a superb tackle in the penalty area to rescue it for us. Did it look like he was organising the back four?
The pyramid to beat all pyramids!! Find out what team is in which division, eg which division is Coppull United in? |

Did you watch the same game as everyone else? Zaha terrified them, they couldn't deal with him, resorting to fouling constantly.

Wilf wasn't that great in the first half, lost the ball due to slow reactions as twist said (had a few good moments though). In the 2nd half he was alot better, carrying the ball up the pitch without ever losing it from what I recall. Whole team grew in confidence actually, especially after the second went in.... Did it look like he was organising the back four? Sakho was solid. He did give up that one lazy pass, but made up for it with a huge recovery. He just settles everyone down at the back, and PVA, Tomkins and Wan-bissaka are benefiting as a result.

Not bad for some who think he was slow and off the pace
