laborde i dont rate that highly, and has hardly pulled up any trees playing in lesser leagues. my favourite player has been joaozinho. i dont know that much about shatov, ive gotta be honest. just had a quick look at his stats, and considering his position and style of play, maybe he needs to add a few goals to his game? apart from the usual top clubs, the russian league isnt that great now. so not like he's playing top opposition, week in, week out

And about though opposition...his 6 matches in the Champions League group stage 2 years ago have 1 assist against Valencia, 1 goal against Gent, 2 assists against Olympique Lyon and 1 other goal against Valencia in the second match. Assists agains France, Slovakia and Costa Rica for the national team in 2016 (hasn't been called up since cause he stopped being a starter at club level). He chose to move to Krasnodar to get back into the national team, but they can also win the league, I see them stronger than Lokomotiv on the long term, but let's see if they have time. I rate all of them. I wouldn't have put them on the list otherwise, You can group them by position and make your own choice. I put in right backs, left backs, central midfielders, right footed wingers, left footed wingers, attacking midfielders and centre forwards. There were some goalkeepers too, like the Russian Akinfeev, Mattia Perrin, the Girona Moroccan goalkeeper, Sporting Braga's Brazilian keeper, all of them becoming free agents soon, but with Vicente Guaita's signing I don't think the club is looking for another one.

I wonder if anybody in the PL will be interesting in signing Abdulrahman, 26 year old Arabian left footed right winger or attacking midfielder, considered the Messi of the Arabian zone, contract expiring NOW, the following months. There was talk that Arsenal wanted him at some point, but in didn't materialise. 23 goals and 40 assists in his last 7300 minutes in the EAU League and the Asian Champions League. Sure, the level is pretty low, but also 5 goals and 15 assists in 3200 minutes for the national team, which (although the opposition is not great) is not a stat that mant players in that zone have. I think he's good enough for the PL level (especially cause of that left foot). He should at least be given a chance. There aren;t any EAU players in Europe at the highest level, but he's the best of the bunch. Of course, like all players who come from that area, he will demand a high salary. They are paid very well there. But by wanting to play in Europe he'll maybe accept a decent salary Palace can offer. He'll probably even be willing to play 1 year in the Championship just to play in Europe.

Although as a fan, I appreciate the effort gone into the list- you need to realize that the list is too extensive. For a scout to give in a list like this, it would be ridiculous, the gaffa wouldn’t know where to start. The players should be organized by position and only put in realistic and quality players. There’s no use for putting in Kevin from the Sunday League because his contract is ending and he scored 20 goals last season. The lists have to be compressed. As a wiseman would say, quality over quantity. I appreciate your large knowledge but you have been looking too hard for contracts ending. Goalkeeper: Butland. Center back: Philip Helander. Right back: No one. Midfielder: Max Power or John Bostock and Samson. Winger: Aarons or Boufal and Shaqiri or Philips. Striker: Rondon or Austin and Gayle or Bobby Reid. Punt for the future: Josh Harrop. Although this list is extensive, it is talking about why we should get the players. It is compact and aimed specifically to the player Palace should be getting and not all over the place.

I arranged them on the 1st page of the thread, second to last post. About the players you mention, I like Shaqiri (of course, everyone does), even Aarons (though hasn't done great on loan at Verone, he can still develop) or Philips as winger, Austin and Gayle as strikers. I'm not a big fan of a weak but very technical player like Boufal in the PL (but the jury's still out on him). Bobby Reid has only had 1 great season. Let's give him some more time. I have never seen Josh Harrop. Nor Max Power (he sounds like a movie characters) or Samson. I know (and like) John Bostock.

You seem to be suggesting a Chelsea style policy, which I do not disagree with. Only, if we are going down that route, we will need to invest heavily in our training facilities etc., I am not sure we can seriously be that kind of draw to Europe’s top fledgling talent without giving them something better facilities wise.
