PZ EAGLE: Well mentioned! I too was at Villa Park as a senior schoolboy (windswept first week of January 1962). At the league level we were then at, compared to Villas top league status, a replay was the very least we deserved, as we easily matched them. Our opponents were up against a team of players as talented overall as their own (Johnny Byrne was still with us), and we went there determined to achieve at least a reencounter back at Selhurst, and would have but for what was said to have been a sudden gust of wind unpredictably taking the ball sailing away helplessly from our legendary goalie. The chartered train journey back seemed longer than it actually was, with many of us youngsters and others wrapped in thought as to what might have been with little banter, as I recall.

The 9-0 defeat by the bin dippers. I'm usually "tea-total" but I drank a half bottle of Jack Daniels that evening.

Touch my coffee and I will slap you so hard even Google won't be able to find you.

Recollection a bit hazy due to the passage of time but I go back to the 1973/74 season when we got off to an awful start losing 4-1 at home to Notts Co.

I have a recollection of going to the Home game against Blackpool with my brother. It was October, I think we had played 9 or 10 games and we hadn't won a game - we were 1-0 up until quite late and we thought this was going to be our first win of the season.Blackpool got 2 late goals at the Whitehorse to win 2-1 ! That was hard to take. This was the season when we never secured our first win until November when we beat Bristol City 1-0 at their ground.

Regards today's game against Bournemouth, I fully expect us to be defeated and given the context of our league placing and relegation battle this will be very hard to take.

The Blackpool game was my 13th Birthday. 1 nil up in injury time & lost 2-1.
Still don't think we will lose again this season, only doubt is Leicester.
