I found them very boring except for when they actually did some better known songs that had more than one chord.

Robert Smith now looks like a fat clown but at least he can still sing to the same low standard as he used to.

I'm going to see KISS in a couple of weeks. Now that is a proper show. They are nearly 70 years old but still doing it.

I wrote the message about a third of the way through their set and in retrospect it did end up dragging on a bit.

Really I had meant that vocally, live and at 60 he is still very much true to the sound of the recordings. Many fell short in that department this year. One or two even appeared to be miming, which defeats the point really.

Billy Ray Cyrus accidentally walking past his microphone as his vocals boom out loud and clear [Link]

The one thing that impressed me about The Cure was Robert Smith still sounding like Robert Smith. Not bad for an old guy.
He should keep off the pies though.

Miming and vocal support are commonplace in live performance I'm afraid.
It disguises weak singers and helps artists preserve their voices.
I'm sure even proper singers like Celine Dion use tapes to have a few nights off when they do long tours or residencies.

Yes, he's definitely not skipping dessert is he haha.

I agree about the miming. I've noticed now that lots of performers now combine a very loud backing track and vocals with their own performance. Technically they're live but you're not really getting a full live show. I'd prefer an average live performance to that really.
