I see Shaun Derry has left Cambridge United by "mutual consent". Poor old Shaun hasn't exactly had a stellar career as a manager, with an average win % of 36.8 in Leagues 1 and 2. Not a suitable candidate to be managing in the Premier League I would say.

In statistical terms this is the case but I don't think he has spent any money on transfers, I think all his signings have been Free or on Loan.There might have been other extenuating circumstances - I just don't know. Been some changes amongst the hierarchy at Camb Utd with Dave Doggett resigning as Chairman not that long ago and now Chief Exec Jez George also leaving. I remember going on a supporters coach to Camb Utd, many,many years ago.

These lower league clubs expect miracles, they don't spend money on transfers so you only get to pick from the s*** no one else wants. Mid table League 2 is probably their natural level so doesn't really deserve the sack

Derry was one of the greatest to ever don the Palace shirt. He could teach a lot of younger players the meaning of 'putting your body on the line'.

Derry was certainly a tough tackler and fierce competitor who had the ability to break up play and also had a 25yd free kick in his locker amongst other attributes but in my estimation I wouldn't shower him with such accolades.I have been a supporter of the club since the 60s !

I used to work with Shaun's father-in-law, Bob, when he was first at Palace and dating his now wife. Although i never met him Bob always spoke highly of him and i got a few posters I had signed by AJ and others courtesy of Shaun. Used to hear a few stories too. Bob Dowie didn't come across well. And from what i heard the treatment of Torghelle wasn't very nice.
