How have they been able to hold him in custody for that long? Even terrorists can only be held for 14 days without being charged.

Since their message says 'they are back in court on Friday' I would assume that they have got permission from the court to hold on to him until all the evidence can be .......erm...... gathered

Unbelievably they still have him in custody. While they've been making this seem jovial and trivial, they've now also released the information that they have had 2 police officers in the cell with him at all times, which is a spectacular waste of both money and resources. Surely they could just leave him in a cell, under CCTV and with a toilet that has had the flush disabled if they are so stubborn to see this through.

Police lose, no smug tweets about it this time though. Probably the best part of £30K down the s***ter in wasted police time over 47 days.
