Jack Harrison and Mix Diskerud just signed for Man City in this transfer window. Frank Lampard, allegedly under contract with NYCFC and loaned to Man City several years ago, was really on a Man City contract but that was covered up for FPP purposes. I live in New York City and my MLS team is Red Bull, as it has been since they were formed as the MetroStars in 1996. Although owned by Red Bull of Austria, there hasn't been these types of transfers between New York (they play in Harrison, NJ and started out in the Meadowlands), Salzburg or Leipzig to the best of my knowledge. In fact, Miazga was sent to Chelsea and Ream was originally sent to Bolton and is now with Fulham. Howard went to Man Utd and both Altidore and Aguadello went to Continental sides. First question, how does Man City, which owns the majority of NYCFC (the New York Yankees are part owners and handle marketing plus the team plays at Yankee Stadium unless there is conflict with Yankees games) get away with these "transfers" that are really moving a player from a Man City nursery side to the big club? Second question, why am I considered disloyal to my city by those who support a Man City nursery team, whether they want to believe, for understanding what MLS is supposed to be about and refusing to "cross the river" and support a team that plays here but really isn't of here?
