Just thought, it's his first transfer window, when he was appointed it seemed like the death knell for De Boer but it worked that way only indirectly, and it was near the end of his reign so this is Doogie's first window. And my point is that's why I'm confident it will be a success - there have been problems in recent years with managers and board reps clashing over transfer policy but the 'Roy looks after the team Doogie does recruitment' has a look of the dream ticket to me - and discussion between the two would be cordial and constructive I believe. We got Jedinak, Parr, Murray for a total of 200k early on ... got Boalsie, Delaney and Moritz for 300k which turned us from relegation fodder to promotion candidates over night - after typical Parrish procastination - his ability to spot value up and coming players is second to none. SP talking recently about the wage bill suggests to me he's lost patience with Benteke - I'm confident Doogie will have all the options coverered, it's up to the board to back him decisively which I'm sure they will - they have done so every season so far, albeit with a few bumps on the road.

Good call and I hope so. With Cabeye out of contract soon I hope Roy and Dougie can decide if there's better value in offering a new contract or seeking someone new. Would be great if there's a coherent plan ahead. Ever since promotion our acquisition has felt reactionary
