Chelsea are cheating b******s. I'm afraid to say that although English football has never been entirely free of gamesmanship, the amount of blatant cheating went on a sharp upward curve when foreign players started to become commonplace.

The only thing that was different about that match was that the ref instead of pandering to it decided he wasn't going to have any s***. Morata got his second yellow card the second he opened his gob.

Can you imagine what the "experts" would have been saying if Wilf had been involved! Had to laugh when a Chelsea player drew an imaginary square at the ref to tell him to refer to VAR... makes a change from waving an imaginary card I suppose. P***ed off with Shearer's view of VAR, criticising it at every opportunity, just because he doesn't agree with it.

I watched the game and thought the ref did everything he could not to give anything to Chelsea including refusing to use VAR. Pedro deserved his ultimate sending off for an Olympic quality dive. However, Willan was tripped and should have had a penalty and Morata was manhandled by the defender before he went down. He was unlucky to get a yellow but of course stupid to argue about it.

And somehow WE have a reputation (with some) of being a team full of ‘divers’. Crazy!
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

P***ed off with Shearer's view of VAR, criticising it at every opportunity, just because he doesn't agree with it. Shearer was a f***ing t***. That would have been a soft pen but softer ones have been given against Scott Dann. I don't know what he expects - even with the benefit of video you will get some cases that just can't be determined but he thinks the right answer is whatever he said it was. The ref was brilliant, about time whining and griping cheats like them were shown cards halfway through their first word instead of being allowed to blow the ref around all the time. As soon as it became clear they were going to go down like sandcastles in a gale at every opportunity he just decided that they weren't getting the benefit of the slightest doubt and stuck to his guns. Had they played fairly from the off they'd probably have got more sympathy. The first one was as clear a dive as you'll see and after that their card was marked. It'd be nice if a player sent off meant they got one penalty fewer was well! Edited by chateauferret (18 Jan 2018 5.13pm)

Hardly manhandled, hands on shoulder which happens many times during a game, the way Morata went down when he realised he wasn't going to score was embarrassing. Wonder what Chris Sutton is saying about this and Pedro? after him crucifying Zaha

Sometimes such things get given - sometimes they don't.
