They are contactless aren't they? You don't have to make contact? Anyway, here's another....Bank branches. Why? Does anyone ever go in one anymore? I tried this morning as some f***wit had given me cheque. It was 10.30am and the bank wasn't even open yet! So i posted it through the letterbox instead. When was the last time anyone went in an actual bank? You don't, they use NFC which just means they have to be near. Last time I went in a bank there were some people already in there queuing up to pay their domestic bills! You could do that by phone, online, by post, by direct debit etc but I can't pay a cheque in anywhere else. Weirdos.

But would you? That has taken 3 pages to ask, HOL is truly slipping. Yes, but I wouldn't be happy about it.

The one prior to that was the year before to the same people and again it wasn't cashed. The last cheque issued on my business account was several years ago for Vat but I've been paying that online for the last few years too

When people say ‘can I ask you a question’. Someone I know always says this. You’ve already asked a question. Now, f*** off. Edited by matt_himself (18 Jan 2018 1.54pm)

Talking of the BBC, shy do they have Radio 5 Live and Radio London commentating on same match when other local games have no coverage?

Almost every TV advert with a couple having a mixed race pair. There are some mixed race couples in the U.K including two friends of mine and that's fine, but if someone abroad looked at these ads they'd think the U.K had at least 50% mixed-race couples and the reality is much less. This is not coming from a racist standpoint-I'm not, but I suspect it actually gives a false view likely to stir up those who are racist/ feeling overwhelmed by ethnic change and immigration-thus, by its contrived political correctness, having the opposite effect from what was intended. I also get the impression that Asians are underrepresented in British ads whereas people of Afro-Caribbean heritage are over-represented. I also dislike Channel 4 news using a biased & stumbling John Snow as anchor.

My current chequebook has the first stub dated as 2007. Not sure i'll actually ever get to the end of it, and there's only one cheque left in it.

They're not doing it to make out that most of the UK is in mixed race relationships, they're doing it to tick two boxes, and market to two different ethnic groups, at the same time. I'd also add that a lot of Asians in Britain, particularly the older ones, actually watch specifically Asian TV channels. There are loads of them.
