I’ll have to be checked on this, but I believe each of our 6 PL victories this season has been against a side that was above us in the table at the time, therefore we haven’t beaten any teams that were below us st the time of playing them. Maybe not unique, but I wonder how rare this situation is. Anyway...may it continue with a win at Arsenal next week!

To be fair we’ve spent a lot of time below all the teams in the league so it’s been hard to do anything but beat teams who are above us. I think it’s that situation though which normally lets us down. Even with Sam last year I remember games against In and around us which let us down massively. But then we went and beat Arsenal Liverpool and Chelsea. I would rather we beat the lower teams and kept them down in a relegation fight whilst moving ya up the table.

It looks like we have played only one match where the team we played was below us at the time which was Swansea away, unless you do a table before any matches where played and place them in alphabetical order so we where above Huddersfield when we played them in the first match!
The pyramid to beat all pyramids!! Find out what team is in which division, eg which division is Coppull United in? |

Oops, my lack of research before the OP then. Sorry. When the league table was first published ie in alphabetical order, I did ask whether we could just skip the season and take that as a finishing position.

Our six wins may not come until may, so a lot of nail biting to be done yet, but that's the way we do it.

No problem, its a great way of how statistics can prove anything. Just like how Rochdale have never lost to Manchester United in the league! or It annoys me when the TV say how a team hasn't beaten another since whenever but don't tell you how many matches they played each other.

That's BBC type commentary. I'd rather hear analysis on the match being played rather than stats of decades past.
