Former footballers - what would they be worth?

Just seen this on BBC gossip:

Former Colombia and Newcastle striker Faustino Asprillia believes he would be worth 200m euros (£177m) in the current transfer market. The 48-year-old joined the Magpies for £6.7m from Parma in 1996. (Tuttomercatoweb - in Italian)

Got me thinking about other former players.

Kenny Sansom - 45 million?

Which others would you suggest and for how much?

Don't wish to Nigel this out but a transfer fee has at least 3 key variables: age, current wage and length of contract left. Hence why Sanchez is roughly £30m or whatever. So to compare you'd have to define which stage of their contract they're in.

Asprilla probably owes Newcastle £177m for the title he cost them.

I think per would be worth nearer £3.75p. Still the game is all about opinions

The TV money has certainly inflates a players worth including bang average players. Slightly off topic but something that surprised me was just before Xmas I was asked to do a set of coasters for a Sheffield Wednesday fan. Looking for a good quality photo of Des Walker I was amazed to read that he now drives a lorry for a living. That's not a slur on anyone who does that for a living just a little shocked that a player of Walkers stature capped over 50 times for England was now a lorry driver.

Sir Bobby - 1.5 billion
Sir Stanley - 1.25 billion
Eusebio - unffordable/priceless.
Best - unaffordable/priceless.
Werner Roth - 250 million. For those who don't remember, watch "Escape To Victory." He played the German captain. In reality he was a German-American who captained the Cosmos in the 1970s.
