Wasn't at the match today, but MOTD did show an excellent ref decision by awarding Sako a free kick (which led to our first goal) after the ref allowed Sako a chance for advantage, before pulling it back. Just saying, credit where it's due.

It was a foul - the ref gave it. I don't see how you can say that Wilf has to be assaulted in one sentence and then talk about "that" decision in the same thread. The referees call it how they see it - either give them all the tools at their disposal, or accept that they are going to get it wrong sometimes - video refereeing will see more right decisions being made, but might reinforce punishments for diving, red cards and the like. Expect to see a rise in sending offs, and less interesting debate about things like this.

When the two recent horrific tackles by Kane & Ali were highlighted on MOTD by one of the pundits, Lineker said we don't want to talk about that, let's just talk about the football, imagine if Puncheon had commited a foul as bad as one of theirs,he'd have been hung , drawn & quartered. The fact those two tackles are being discussed here and had been mentioned on telly means people do care. Get it? Linker is right, MOTD is about using limited tine to accentuate the positive. After seeing the blatant diving by Wilshere and Hazard last night,I'm expecting Graham Poll,Chris Sutton & all to call for them to be banned.

Ain't that the truth! The more cameras around the pitch the worse the shown footage seems to get. It annoys me massively, the continues zooming around, focussing on stuff around the pitch but also on players while the game is flowing. You want to see MOVEMENT in an overview, not a close shoot up of a single player even if he has the ball. I genuinely think a lot of football game editors have been educated in the showbusiness and lack knowledge of, and love for the game. Originally posted by adrian b

The commentators in the Southampton stream I was watching were very keen to point out that there should not be so much focus on Wilf supposedly diving as it may harm what great talent he has. As it goes, I think the negative publicity actually appears to be spurring him on, although I'd rather people stopped regurgitating this myth that he's a diver.
