Watson is now 32 and I find it hard to imagine what contribution he can make in the PL at this stage of his career. He has only made 11 apps for Watford since the start of season 2016/17. I know I will be in the minority here but I never saw what all the fuss was about with Watson. Average at best, worst dead ball delivery I had ever seen. Corners very rarely cleared the first man. No thanks.

Me and my mate I sat next to would take it in turns with £5 bets at every corner to see if he would clear the first man

Hope this isn’t true. Putting aside the fact that he seemed more than happy to leave us for Wigan (fair enough his choice) I never thought he was anything special for Palace, even back then, let alone now. He would be another very average midfielder to keep Mutch and Lee company. Definitely needs to be quality over quantity this window as once signed some of these players are very difficult to sell on.
