The Rail unions haven't learnt from the failed strikes of the past such as the dockers and print workers. They claim they're concerns are about passenger safety. Well when a tube driver was sacked for failing a breathalyzer they called a one day strike. They claimed it was a false positive because he was a diabetic yet failed to provide any medical proof to back that claim. When driverless trains are proposed and the unions ask the public for their support I wonder if they will get it?. Same mate has told me that the technology has been installed on several tube lines just not switched on. How long before it is on the railways. Better to work with progress than draw a line in the sand. By the way how did it work out for the dockers and the print workers?
