No doubt Palace will have a price for Wilf this summer and if it's hit, he'll be off. And if it isn't he'll stay. it's unthinkable there won't be bids...the question is only whether bigger clubs will value him as we do. We can't afford to give him away. Anyway, the bottom line is we need to have a clear plan for the eventuality that he goes. We can probably use the money on serious upgrades at goalkeeper, permanent right back, another striker. We'd need a replacement of some sort for Wilf.
Keeping Wilf, of course, might make a lot of other things easier.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

I am under no illusions about Wilf staying forever. But we won’t lose him in January. At the same time, the only thing that’d pull him away is Champs League Football. He is a regular/main player for Ivory Coast already and our salary package is actually equivalent to what he’d get at bigger clubs. He likes living in London and has a young family so it would really have to be the right decision for him. Sure, if Man City or Chelsea offer to double that salary (think: Kevin de Bruyne’s mooted money) he might go for that but that sort of money seems reserved for those who have already made it at that club. De Bruyne is the best player at City and in the league right now. If we keep Zaha and sign RLC on perm in January (who knows?) and get in a striker of quality, that’d show some ambition.

Do you honestly think Chelski will sell RLC to us in Jan?!What drugs are you on?!

As Willo has pointed out, we are far from being safe from relegation and we could be right back in the bottom three after the Christmas/New Year games. You can forget about the "new stadium plans" until something actually happens; the whole thing is so long-term that anything could happen and we've had infrastructure "plans" before that have come to nought. What we urgently need in the January window is at least one more striker and another keeper. Anything else will be a luxury and, I suspect, that money will be fairly tight as well. Edited by bexleydave (19 Dec 2017 11.31am) Agreed one more striker.

Besides with the exception of Welsh clubs competing in the competitions loans from a club in membership of another National Association do not count towards the PL listed quotas.Thank you cat.
