Yes considering we had no points and no goals after 7 games, its remarkable that we are better off at this stage than last season

"fewer points" not "less points"

Yeah everyone identifies 40 as the number to hit but 9 times out of 10 you're safe with 37

This year could be 34, we will not be going down whatever the number required. The table after the Swansea game will have 4 teams 4 points or worse off than us & 6 a couple of points either side of us; happy days. A point a game average rest of the season will be more than enough.

I hope you don't come to rue this statement. We have only won 1 of 9 against Swansea in the Premier League

Time to start redressing the balance then!

And now time like the present. Their performance against Everton makes me think we cant seriously embarrass them Saturday.

Very confident now as long as Wilf doesn't get injured for long and we have a proper striker available. It's when either of those are a test it'll be squeaky bvm time.

Yup. Our shocking run stood out because it was at the start of the season, but Newcastle are presently on a worse run (1 point from 24) than we went through (3 points from our first 24).

Staying up is all about arresting those alarming slides, and picking up points here and there.

it’s amazing how quick The perspective turns - we have gone from not scoring away from home all season, to three away clean sheets in a row in the space of an afternoon.

we have broken the record for longest run of no goals or points at the start of a season, and equalled our own record for longest run without defeat, all in the space of a few months.

It all depends on what statistics you want to listen to, and whether you want to be miserable midway, or happy at the end of the season.

Not to mention the fact that we got hammered by City and Utd. Those don't look so bad now, given the pummelling that pretty much every one has had at the Etihad...

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

You'll never guess who's just been sacked.

Indeed I do; well spotted YT, thanks.
Even with the sacking & likely appointment of Pullis I still fancy we have too much for them on our last few performances.
