Defining moments are often discussed. Last year we were flying until Sahko got injured in the Tottenham game. Even before that moment in the game we were on top. After the end of the Everton game, confidence was at an all time low. Against Watford, we were awful. Then Cleverley got sent off. We scored 2 goals in 3 minutes. Now look at us yesterday. We totally dominated and the team are buzzing again.

Quite a few false dawns. Like beating Southampton 3-0 at home, we might have thought Pardew was going to go back to common sense and start playing properly again, but he didn't and carried on being s***. A few weeks later he was dumped. Or when we turned Chelsea over this season after seven straight defeats. We might have thought we'd turned a corner, but it was a few weeks yet before we got another win, and only now have we won away from home. I think this season though since Hodgson came in there's been a sense of getting progressively better. He mentioned it in his post-match presser, results like yesterday have been coming and should not be considered a surprise. Allardyce ended up having to drag us over the line at the end because of all the injuries, but Hodgson did the business convincingly yesterday with a team that also was weakened through injury, and in particular without Sakho or Milivojevic.

I think yesterday's win is a defining moment and i'm sure it will give us the confidence to eventually end up mid-table at the end of this season

I was really impressed yesterday with the squad depth. If anything the team had better balance without 3 stars, I was expecting a heavy defeat. COYP

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |
