Whilst I am totally pissed off I can understand why Benteke wanted to take the penalty. He had had a very good game and maybe he thought that this would cap a great performance and build his confidence. What I cannot understand is why did none of the team members tell him he is not the penalty taker. The team as a whole is also responsible for the debacle and the two dropped points.

I meant Dann TBH as a senior player who's captained the team this season. Don't expect your GK to run the length of the pitch and get involved.

The positivity is totally undermined now because I thought the same thing after West Ham (2-2, should have won) Everton (2-2, should have won) and now Bournemouth (2-2, should have won). That is before we even get into Burnley, Newcastle, et al. At some point positivity needs to render points. That point came a while ago. THAT is my concern.

But seriously, a win is not out of the question by any means. Watford are not that great a team, they are hardly City or United.

Watford never scored against Burnley on Saturday but prior to that have been scoring goals away from home : They have only failed to score in 2 of their last 11 games.Tough game for us. If your reasoning would make sense, it surely should not be Luka as he let CB take the ball off him. And all the people blaming other players for not stepping in: apart from the embarrassment it causes, it would dramatically increase the pressure on the penalty taker, whoever it was going to be. Only one person to blame imo: Benteke himself who never should have put his own need for scoring above that of the team.
