Should anyone want to share their experiences of Tuesday night, the Football Supporters Federation would like to hear from you as they are complying a report on the policing and stewarding of the game. Personally, I think it's important. If we don't speak out the police will own the narrative and the fans will be to blame for their incompetence. There's already lies spreading around this. A statement from the FSF read: "It's clear from witness accounts and video footage that a number of Crystal Palace fans 'stormed' the turnstiles at the Amex Stadium on Tuesday night. There is no excuse for such behaviour and the FSF condemns these actions and reiterates our anti-pyro(technic) stance. Many of the fans who reported this to us are match-going Crystal Palace fans with tickets who fear that they will suffer the consequences of such behaviour." There will be no nice rosy smell coming out of any of the FSF's conclusions. Edited by bexleydave (01 Dec 2017 4.17pm)
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Edited by bexleydave (01 Dec 2017 4.17pm) This was lifted from the Evening Standard and was in itself a part of a wider statement that offered a little more balance. But as always it is what is left out of the news that is the real problem I have never been involved in reporting anything like the events of Tues before, so I have no idea if anything will be achieve from doing so now, but if we don't try then we become part of the problem Edited by Kodg (01 Dec 2017 7.23pm)

I applaud the efforts of all those concerned. Testimonies from fans on the day of the match are truly shocking. I wish the FSF and other Palace fans all the best with this.

Not sure if this was substantiated at the Mansex. For sure there have been fireworks at Wembley and Selhurst, and there-in lies the precedent that taints all Palace fans. As for storming the gates, wasn't this found to be a gate left open, which fans with tickets ran to ? You see how muddy the waters have (deliberately) got with the Police marching people to the train station (even though they arrived by car), depriving them of going to the game, then issuing false allegations of 'storming the gates', 'knives', 'knuckledusters', 'pyrotechnics'? The only way this can be resolved is by starting a complaint, and taking it to the highest level. Police Complaints and Public Inquiry beckons. Well done FSF and your comrades

Well done FSF and your comrades The gate was left open by a steward going for a fag, sadly one of our stewards did require hospital treatment for his injuries sustained in trying to keep our fans out. THere most certainly were pyrotechnics in the ground, and the people behind them forc d fans out of their seats to get beh8 d the goal.

I have to say, I think I gauged this wrong from my initial post. My wife was watching South-East news yesterday evening, and she said a representative from Sussex police was briefly interviewed and he admitted 'mistakes had been made in relation to policing of the Brighton - Palace game' Making a mistake is like driving off with your handbrake on. You immediately know there is a problem (based on your previous driving experience), so you rectify the problem before anything dangerous happens. What Sussex police did was drive through a pedestrian area at 60mph and then tell the media the pedestrians were vandalising your car with weapons. That is incompetence, provocative, and lying. I think the interview was an attempt to de-fuse the complaint. Sure, every club has a few t055ers amongst its support, and I would hope they are brought to account. That is termed 'policing', I believe.
