Picked it up from Amazon this past week, haven't been able to put it down.

In the past I always viewed SJ as a bit of a blowhard and a braggart, but I digress he makes many fair points about the modern game. He certainly strikes me as the archtypical sociopathic buisnessman, which according Malcolm Gladwells book "David and Goliath" is a common trait amongst succesful buissnessman. I have yet to reach the part about the SP takeover but am certainly looking forward to it, I have a underlying sense that SP and SJ are probably more similar to one another than either would like to admit, but SP is no doubt more polished and "family friendly".

Apologies if this topic has been broached before, just a bit tantalized about how much i'm enjoying the book.

***Spoiler alter***

I read it. Basically he states that he was brilliant and everything that went wrong, in business or at Palace, wasn't his fault.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

I'd say it's pretty clear that SP is much smarter as well when it comes to business.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

I have a birthday coming up next month and my wife has been asking what I would like. I might just put a request in as a back up if I don't get what I would really like..

I would 100 percent have a read. Read it on holiday once and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Regardless of your thoughts on jordan, it's a great insight into the goings on of behind the scenes football in general, with a few great stories of Jordan's dealings with other chairmen and the FA.

SJ has always talked a good fight, and is always engaging and good entertainment.
If his book were to be considered as a document of fact, I would put it just behind his T-shirt release of "Club and Ground re-united"

I disengage, I turn the page.

Simon Jordon probably should have considered being a writer, rather than an entrepreneur investor (after selling up his phone company). The book reads extremely well, and is well written (its funny, insightful and captures the absurdity of owning a football club really well).

I wouldn't treat it as truth, that would stupid, but it reminds me of something Tony Wilson refers in regards to '24 Hour Party People', the importance of the myth being much more interesting than the subjective truth.
