Right-footed keeper.

I recall having a conversation about Johnstone maybe 2 or 3 years ago and was informed that he was working hard on his distribution.
Evidently his distribution at present is good and he is capable in one-on-one situations.

I understand his Father was a keeper for Preston but I cannot recall his name or seeing him play.Sam himself played for Preston, signed on Loan from Man Utd by Simon Grayson.

Really? Yet Wikipedia describes young Sam’s father as Glenn. Pity you never read it then Willo

Johnstone would be a good signing. If we wait until the end of the season, it could be worth looking at which sides were relegated and try to pluck one of their goalkeepers.

Stoke have Jack Butland, if they go down Butland will be the first to leave as he wants to play for England. Palace could swoop in early in June for him before he leaves for the World Cup.

Newcastle have Karl Darlow and Freddie Woodman. Woodman's untested in the Premier League but is very highly rated and was in the under-20 starting XI that won the FIFA U-20 World Cup, so definitely has potential.

Lukasz Fabianski would be another good one but he's the wrong side of 30 if we want a long term goalkeeper. That's why I'm not mentioning WBA whose GKs are both getting on a bit too.

Sakho is class. If they rejected him because they didn't like his face, more fool them.

In fairness, he has a face only a mother could love....

Can we just not shrink size of net and hope that nobody notices? Would make for a big save in dosh!

that would be good but we'd have to switch the nets at halftime so we can always shoot on a bigger net.

Speroni would've saved it!

With Hennessey's and Speroni's current 'better' form I think it might be wise to do what you suggest and loot the relly's keepers. :-) But it wouldn't hurt to grab a promising youngster if available. (If you know what I mean).

Am quite intrigued to see others' opinion on this: with January approaching we obviously need a new keeper. Thoughts on these choices? [Link]

If that is you Ollie, you talk very well with a lot of sense. However the music is ridiculous and very irritating. But overall a good show

Yeah exactly. Speroni still has this season in him and it could be better in the long term to pick up a decent one off the relegated sides on the cheap, than to panic buy one who may not actually be as good in January just for the sake of having another keeper. Especially if Stoke go down, cos Butland is in contention to start in Russia with Joe Hart's godawful form at West Ham.
