Ironically, it ought to be a sum that's already been calculated by the benefits office as an amount you need to live on, but I don't suppose they do that calculation. But even that's 'subjective' isn't it....it's certainly not as cut and dry as comparing against the recognised definition by the IMF; but as Jamie said...I guess we have to start somewhere...for my mind just use that definition as part of the measure.

It's not a solution in its entirety; but certainly part of it

Other developed European countries with far stronger social safeguards than the UK are also more densely urbanised in terms of people per square foot. If the UK continues its headlong race to the deregulated bottom on jobs, wages, wealth entrenchment, automation and taxation, hive-type micro accomodation for the ever growing ranks of jobless and employed poor becomes a necessity. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (09 Nov 2017 3.07pm) For a single room that's an outrageous sum. Is that the norm in London these days. F**k me, I used to rent a three bedroom flat above a shop in Reading (12 years ago) for 750. The bloke should be done twice, first for the scam and then for being a c**t landlord.
