Start praying for the sick. Specifically, Benteke. Dilemma. We are playing a lot better since Benteke's absence and one and a half hour strolls around the park.

Crikey we should have got something but definitely not a result to get all depressed over....there'll be worse to come.
The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years |

Benteke's return should help .But also the more this group of players play together under RH's guidance the more they will hopefully become a tighter more dangerous outfit. I dream of turning on some media and being shocked to see that Palace have slammed a team to the tune of 5 goals. When did that last happen? Don Rogers et al vs Man U back in the day? Newcastle only a couple of seasons back.

He's only played 1 under Roy - City away where we were pretty bad all over. I think the uptick in performances is more to do with Roy than a lack of Benteke. I'm sure Roy will be able to get the best out of him. Games against Newcastle and West Ham we were crying out for him.

Hi fellow Palace fans. I rarely post but feel compelled to to do so now if for no other reason than it might help to alleviate my suffering by sharing. I cannot remember the last time I felt this devastated by a result. Ever since yesterday, try as I might, I keep on going back to the no points vs Spurs game. Constant replaying of that Zaha miss when through. Not in the slightest having a go at him. Just so distressed that we should have had a point at Newcastle, another vs Spam, and at least one vs Spurs if not three. Surely we will start scoring and winning soon? Please say that will happen. I have followed Palace since 1960, been through all the ups and downs but have never been so fearful of disaster (relegation) than now. How are others feeling at this time? I'd love to hear if I'm overreacting or not. Thanks! I'm a slightly younger vintage. I can honestly say that i'd not be bothered if it happens.

Before the Spurs game I would have accepted a 1-0 defeat as progress. However, the nature of the defeat really hurt. They had key players missing and Kane was struggling too so they were there for the taking. The lack of a striker and decent keeper is really coming back to haunt us in a big way, and as well as we are playing, the confidence will slowly drain away the more adrift we become. Having been a Palace fan since the 70s, we have always been a team of spirit and I for one still believe we can survive, and since Roy arrived we have certainly improved. The next 2 months are critical and come the New Year I hope we will be able to see that we can survive this complete shambles of a season. If we do manage to make it, please please please do everything possible to keep Roy in charge. The last thing we need is another poxy manager who will use us for their own gain(Pulis, Allardyce, Bruce etc etc) bringing in another unbalanced group of players earning way in excess of what they should!
